Travel Journal

These are two journals documenting the client's journey across South America in a 4 x 4. The trip involved a visit to Frida Kahlo's residence, hence the decorative touch on the inside boards featuring her.  The labels on the front boards are blocked in black onto calf and hand painted to the customer's specification.  The books are bound in half calf.  The larger is a hand made glued Victorian style album and the smaller is the A4 trip itinerary that was converted from a sprial binding to calf binding.

The style of the album is Victorian made with linen strips and acid free board.  Below is an example of the opening of a Victorian Style photo album

Wimbledon Presentation Albums

Four books bound in 2008 and presented by the All England Lawn Tennis Association to Tim Henman, Roger Federer, Venus Williams and Rafael Nadal.  Many of the photographs were taken by well known award winning sports photographer Bob Martin.  Coated watercolour paper larger than A3 was printed on.  The pages were then bound in green 563 Arbelave Buckram with canson mi-teintes Wimbledon green fly leaves.  The books were single pages, glued and separated into sections before being sewn on linen tapes. The slip cases were specially made to fit the books and covered in the same material. The sides of the slip cases have raised rounded sides to protect the edges of the books.

Two books bound for presentation to Venus Williams and Roger Federer by The All England Lawn Tennis Club. These are A3 size and bound in green arbelave buckram with a protective slip case made of the same cloth.  

Commitment Ceremony Memento

This book is bound in Japanese silk decorative covers with a cotton cloth label to commemorate a commitment ceremony.  

Leather Bound Photo Album

The album inserts were originally from WH Smith.  However, the owners wanted to have a uniform look with volume numbers and a leather spine.  New covers were made as all in ones with integral brass studs to hold the peel back adhesive pages. The books haver leather back and corners and are tooled according to the customer's wishes.  

Wedding Album

A wedding album was bound in siver grey buckram.  Because it was in A3 format, a different approach was taken to the usual slip case whereby the slip case can be opened out to reveal the album.  The inside was decorated with decorative Indian handmade paper.

Village Magazine Collection

A set of magazines were rebound to match an earlier one.  These are bound in green arbelave buckram.
